SPUR: Spiritual Prompting Unto Righteousness

SPUR is devoted to prompting spiritual growth and leadership among men.

Spur is made up of meaningful times of prayer, bible study, book study, sharing, learning and growing in our walk with Jesus. Currently, we are studying the book, Knowing God by J. I. Packer. This book has been an important tool to help Christians around the world discover the wonder, the glory and the joy of knowing God.

New believer or seasoned believer, if you want to learn how to walk with Jesus, come join us and we will learn and grow together. New people, age 21+, are always welcome and can jump in anytime. We meet the 1st & 3rd Friday of each month at Panera Bread in the Frandor Plaza with a start time of 7am.

For information, please contact Brian Chapman at chappy7@gmail.com

Equippers @ South Church Chapel

Equippers @ South Church Chapel

Equippers kicks off on Sunday, January 9 and continues through March 20.

Ephesians 4:11-12 “And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ…”

Are you equipped for the Christian life? Whether new to the faith or a seasoned believer, we all need to be continually equipped for ministry, which is why we organize the “Equippers” series each year.

The authentic Christian life is an integration of knowing, being, and doing, which is why the Equippers courses are divided into the three content areas described below. Please take time to explore and register today  Equippers_https://southlife.org/wp-content/uploads/Equippers_BRO_2022.pdf

Bible/Theology courses will focus on knowing God through His Word—the Bible. These courses will equip you to know God more deeply as you study His Word.

Spiritual Formation courses will focus on being a more mature follower of Christ. These courses will equip you to be more confident and consistent in living the Christian life as you are led by God’s Word and Spirit.

Ministry Training courses will focus on doing the works of service which God has planned for you. These courses will equip you to do the ministry activities which are commanded in His Word.

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly.” – Colossians 3:16a

Many of us want God’s Word to dwell richly in us, but life can get in the way. We’d never intentionally write chapters of confusion, failure, loss, pain, conflict, or suffering into our stories. No one plans to wrestle with her identity in Christ, to struggle to love her husband, to feel lonely in ministry, or to feel helpless in motherhood. Yet we often find ourselves in these seasons, struggling to embrace the gospel hope we need to fill our discouraged souls.

Join this study on the Book of Colossians as we learn to practice of preaching gospel truth to ourselves by studying Paul’s example. In every changing season of life, we can rest in God’s character, rehearse our identity in Christ, respond in faith, and remember God’s provision for us. In today’s culture, there’s no shortage of self help, easy fixes, and worldly advice, but only the truth of God’s Word was meant to fill you up and satisfy you fully.

Facilitated by Darla Daugherty in Room 201, Workbook $17.00.
