Pastor Don’s 1st Person Narratives
Sunday, December 17 at 9:30 and 11 AM
Services will be combined on December 17th to see Pastor Don’s 1st-person narrative. Both services will meet in the Worship Center but will still meet at the usual times at 9:30 and 11:00am. Pastor Don will dress up as a biblical character and tell the story of our Savior’s birth from that character’s perspective. It will be a special time as we focus our attention on the birth of God’s son.
What is a first-person narrative?
It is the creation of a real-to-life account of a biblical person or event, built on a factual framework of Scripture, history and tradition, while allowing the imagination to flesh-out the story. What makes such a sermon true to life is not found in the incidental details which are presented, but in the reality of their universal humanity

“Emmanuel” is a breath of fresh air for our times. The musical opens with a child in Bethlehem singing “Can I be honest? Sometimes it feels like we’ve all been walking in darkness.” Drawing parallels between the lives of people in biblical times to our own challenges today brings a real, fresh glimpse of the reality of a Savior, God with us, no matter what we may face. Narrated by different biblical characters, including Mary and Joseph, Elizabeth and Zechariah, a spunky Angel G, two tap-dancing innkeepers and some crazy, game- playing shepherds! The fun continues as we watch the whole Christmas story play out!
PreK – 2nd graders will be singing a song prior to Emmanuel. An evening for the whole family – a cookie reception will follow.
