How about a trip down the river on the Michigan Princess? We haven’t done this in a while. October should have beautiful colors along the river. We need to arrive at the boat dock by 11 am. Boat leaves at 11:30 and returns at 1-1:30. Tickets are $48 for seniors and includes a meal of Roasted Turkey, Vegetarian Lasagna, Creamy Garlic mashed potatoes, Stuffing, Sweet Potato Casserole, Green Bean Casserole, Corn, Tossed salad and Dinner Rolls. Frank Tanana will resume our series of Lansing Talks – stories worth sharing. Tanana, who enjoyed a twenty-one year career in Major League Baseball (eight years with the Tigers), was born again in 1983 and became a leader among baseball’s Christian community. In retirement, he has continued to serve the Lord as an elder in his church, assisting the Tigers’ chaplain, and leading Bible studies. We will be gathering together for our annual Thanksgiving potluck. We will meet in the Fireside Room at South Church at 5 pm to start the festivities. Please bring a dish to pass. Valentine’s Day is coming soon, so let’s bring our Senior Singles together for a fun day of eating and playing games. We will meet at 1 pm on February 11 in the Student Lounge to eat goodies and play games. Please bring a passing dish for the potluck and any games you may want to play. Senior Singles please join us on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, to put together gift bags for our shut-ins. Please bring some small items to add to these gift bags. Suggestions would be lotions, lip balms, toothbrushes, Kleenex, small snack bags, toothpaste, just to name a few. We will plan to fill 15-20 bags. After we are done filling bags, we will watch a movie. We will meet in the Fireside room at 2 pm. Feel free to bring snacks and remember to sign up on the Legacy Board if you are planning to join us. Don’t forget to wear green!
Mosaic Ministries (Senior Singles) will be traveling to Grand Rapids to Meijer Gardens to see the butterfly gardens. We will meet in the church parking lot at 10 am to either carpool or take a church van. We will plan on eating lunch in Grand Rapids. Legacy and Mosaic are planning a Fall kickoff with a bonfire on September 21. We will begin at 5:30 pm. The hot dogs, buns and condiments will be provided. Please bring a dish to pass and a lawn chair. Let’s enjoy fellowship with other seniors and sing around the fire. If we have inclement weather, we will meet in the South Life Center. Both had loving parents who nurtured their spiritual lives and love for music as they grew, and encouraged them to pursue music even into their college years.
In John’s work, in his faith, in his marriage, in his service to others — music underpins it all. Come listen as he plays the songs that influenced his journey, helped him understand the gospel of Jesus Christ, and gave him the assurance to overcome obstacles.

Many of our shut-ins enjoy getting goody bags we have put together each year. This has been a positive experience for both the receivers and those who stuffed the bags. We want to continue this event again this year with a potluck at 1 pm. We will meet in the Fireside room to enjoy a potluck lunch and then fill the bags. Besides bringing a passing dish, please bring small items to put in the bags, such as combs, toothbrushes, snacks, Kleenex packs etc. Connie Norman will offer devotions for this event.
