Women’s Study: James – Living A Life of Genuine Faith @ Virtual Zoom Class
Nov 17 @ 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm

James: Living A Life of Genuine Faith – Jen Wilkin.
This study will be held via zoom each Tuesday at 6:30 pm.

The Bible study may be different than the studies you have done in the past. It will not cover a specific topic from all angles. It will not focus on answering the question “What does the Bible say about me?” It will not aid you in self-discovery, at least not as its primary intent. What it will do is teach you an important passage of the Bible in a way that will stay with you for years to come. It will challenge you to move beyond loving God with just your heart to loving Him with your mind. It will focus on answering the question “What does the Bible say about God?”

To make the most of our time together, we encourage participants (1) to work through the workbook and (2) to listen to an audio lesson taught by Jen Wilkin. This Tuesday night time will be a discussion of the information in the audio lesson.

Facilitated by Judy Peterson, 6:30-8:00 pm.
There is no charge for the .pdf workbook which is available for you to download HERE  or we can supply you with a notebook containing the workbook ($5.00)You will find each week’s audio lesson HERE.

Women’s Bible Study – Refresh for mothers of infants and preschool age children.
Nov 24 @ 9:00 am – 11:00 am

Tuesdays: January 13 – 7:30 pm

Refresh: for mothers of infant and preschool age children. Give Them Grace by Elyse Fitzpatrick and Jessica Thompson.

All of us want to raise good kids. And we want to be good parents. But what exactly do we mean by “good?” And is “being good” really the point?

Mother-daughter team Elyse Fitzpatrick and Jessica Thompson contend that every way we try to make our kids “good” is simply an extension of Old Testament Law―a set of standards that is not only unable to save our children, but also powerless to change them.

No, rules are not the answer. What they need is grace.

We must tell our kids of the grace-giving God who freely adopts rebels and transforms them into loving sons and daughters. If this is not the message your children hear, if you are just telling them to “be good,” then the gospel needs to transform your parenting too.

Give Them Grace is a revolutionary perspective on parenting that shows us how to receive the gospel afresh and give grace in abundance, helping our children know the dazzling love of Jesus and respond with heartfelt obedience.

Facilitated by Tami Harrison, this group will be meeting at the church in the Student Ministry Center. There will not be childcare. Please contact Tami for more information at trevor.tami@gmail.com. Cost for book $10.00.

Saturday Morning Women’s Study – The Village: weekend study for moms
Dec 5 @ 9:00 am – 10:30 am
The Village: weekend study for moms
Beginning Saturday, February 15th, 2020
If you are a working mom, we want to build community with you! This new study is for moms of young children looking for a place to pursue God and support one another.

The Village will meet on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month, from 10am-11:30am, in Joy Shantz’s home in south Lansing. All moms are welcome, with childcare available for infants through preschool-age children.

We will begin by studying “In His Image” by Jen Wilkin. Through this book we will look at 10 qualities of who God is — holy, loving, just, good, merciful, gracious, faithful, patient, truthful and wise — and discuss what it looks like to live out these qualities in our own homes, workplaces, and communities.
Book: $10 – Register Here
