Refugee Outreach @ Fireside Room

Did you know that 10% of the population of Lansing are refugees – and 60 refugees are being added every month! We have tremendous opportunities to reach out to these souls coming to our doorstep. These kind of opportunities include mentoring, befriending, tutoring and being conversation partners. If you are interested and would like more information, please join us at 7:15 in the Fireside Room for a 30 minute informative meeting. If you have any questions, please contact Pastor Tim Van Loh

God is bringing the nations to Lansing on a weekly basis. While sending missionaries to people groups around the world is still a priority, now we all can represent Christ by ministering to the ones God is sending here. Join us Saturday, 11/4 from 9:30-11 am for a training seminar to learn how you can befriend and show Christ’s love to these precious people.

Lansing Talks & Sings @ South Church

Business executive by day. Musician by night. That’s John Cheney.

Please join us at 6:00 pm on November 19 for Lansing Talks to hear the story of how music shaped John’s life.

John’s adoptive-mom fanned the flame of music that still burns today. From the early days of their courtship, Heidi and John discovered they were both adopted as infants and shared similar paths. Both had loving parents who nurtured their spiritual lives and love for music as they grew, and encouraged them to pursue music even into their college years.

In John’s work, in his faith, in his marriage, in his service to others — music underpins it all. Come listen as he plays the songs that influenced his journey, helped him understand the gospel of Jesus Christ, and gave him the assurance to overcome obstacles.

Invite your neighbors who love fine coffee, homemade treats, music, and a captivating story.

Communion @ South Church
Nov 10 @ 9:30 am – 12:00 pm
Communion @ South Church

This Sunday we will have the opportunity to celebrate communion together, live and online. We are glad for the opportunity to participate again in something that followers of Jesus have been celebrating for over 2000 years, as we focus on the atoning death of our Savior.

Not all of us we will be able to be together physically, but we will be together spiritually, sharing in God’s Word, so we put together this “Communion at Home Guide” for you.

  1. Prepare your own bread and cup to use during the communion time.
  2. Before the service, spend time prayerfully reflecting on the sacrifice of Jesus. We encourage you to read passages like Luke 22:7-20 and 1 Corinthians 11: 23-28 to help you prepare as well.
  3. Spend time examining your heart before the service.  We believe that the Communion meal is for believers, members of Christ’s body, who are sincerely following Him.
  4. Talk to your kids about communion.  Perhaps share your story of coming to faith in Christ with them (and guide them as to whether they themselves should participate at this time).
  5. Join us for our online service this Sunday at 9:30 a.m.

We’re so looking forward to worshipping together with you, as we share in music of worship, receive God’s Word and celebrate communion together.
