This worldwide program focuses on Bible memory, which introduces the children to Jesus Christ. They have a handbook to complete which aids them in the study of God’s Word. The evening Schedule includes small group handbook time, a large group Bible lesson, and an exciting game time. Our Awana program runs in conjunction with the school calendar. The Awana year ends in May with the awards celebration. It’s never too late to join!

The program is broken into three main groups:

Cubbies is the Awana programs for preschoolers. At South, Cubbies must be age 3 by September 1, potty-trained and have a parent in the building during Awana. Cubbies is built on two premises: young children can and should receive spiritual training, and home is the primary place for spiritual training our preschool program meets these needs through lots of fun! Games, puppets, crafts, awards, snacks and other activities make Cubbies a lively weekly experience where fun and learning go hand in hand.

Sparks is the Awana club for kids in kindergarten, first, and second grade. The Gospel is regularly presented at this critical stage in a child’s spiritual development. Club nights combine learning with fun to create an atmosphere of irresistible excitement. Club meetings are divided into three segments:

  • Council time for Bible teaching, singing, and announcements;
  • handbook time for completion of Bible-based handbooks;
  • game time for games that appeal to kids of all skill levels.

Truth & Training (T&T) is the Awana club for kids in third through sixth grade (sixth graders have options, see parent brochure at South). T&T Clubs feature a strong focus on Scripture application, consistent presentation of the Gospel, a colorful look, fun characters and more. Exciting theme nights and other exciting activities add excitement to club nights throughout the year.

    Like Sparks, T&T weekly meetings are divided into three segments:
  • Team-oriented fun in Game Time
  • Hear a Bible message and receive awards in Large Group (Council) Time
  • Learn and recite Bible truths in Handbook Time.
