The City Rescue Mission of Lansing is a 501(c)3, Christian ministry founded in and still serving Michigan’s capital area. Every year, thousands of women, children, and men find refuge and rescue thanks to the compassion of our community. Our mission is to meet physical needs for Food and Shelter to bring those with spiritual needs the Hope that is found in Jesus Christ. Our vision is to bring the lost to the Lord Jesus Christ and to establish believers in the Christian faith.

Shared Pregnancy is committed to helping women in unexpected or challenging pregnancies with emotional, material, and spiritual support, and assisting families with young children. Walking alongside women from pregnancy through the first four years of the baby’s life is how we provide that support. We strive to be non-judgmental and to share God’s grace as they consider their options.

Camp Barakel is a year-round, Christ-centered camp in northeast Michigan built on 350 acres that hosts nearly 10,000 guests each year. It’s a place where we hope you feel the weight of God’s glory, know the depth of Biblical truth, and see the beauty of the Redeemer, Jesus Christ. Our adult volunteers find many opportunities to serve Christ by doing what they can to meet the needs of others. Most adult volunteers serve on a temporary basis, for a weekend retreat or for a week or two in the summer.
Youth Haven Ranch – youthhaven.org
Youth Haven’s mission is to provide life-changing, Christ-centered experiences for disadvantaged children. Youth Haven is committed to meeting the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of disadvantaged children. This includes boys and girls living in foster care, single-parent families, or low-income homes, as well as children who have experienced abuse, neglect, gang violence, or even a parent in prison.

CBMC is a business and professional men’s evangelism and discipleship ministry. Opportunities begin by joining a prayer team for unsaved associates in the marketplace. Outreach occurs when these people are brought to quarterly luncheons where a testimony is given from a saved Christian businessman. Discipleship through one-to-one ministry occurs among the newly saved using CBMC’s discipleship tool “Operation Timothy.”

Ten thousand forcibly displaced people have settled here in the Lansing area seeking asylum due to political or religious persecution. Many of these asylum seekers have come from countries in the 1040 window that are difficult to reach with the gospel. We have a unique opportunity to build relationships with them and share the love of Christ with them, If you are interested in praying for and befriending a sojourner please email us and we can connect you with opportunities in our community where you can be trained to use your gifts to serve.

Reach the Forgotten Jail Ministry – jailministry.org
Reach the Forgotten Jail Ministry is a biblically-based, chaplain-led, volunteer ministry. We provide hope in Michigan county jails by teaching, preaching, and showing the love of Jesus Christ. We believe that every inmate that returns home can start a new life, become a productive citizen, and never return to jail.

More than 1.9 million people are incarcerated in the United States, over 10 million around the world (Prison Policy Initiative). Many are longing for a caring connection. Many have reached the end of their rope. Many have hearts open to the Gospel. Crossroads Prison Ministries was born out of a desire to connect Christians on the ‘outside’ with those in prison — to offer a ray of hope that someone cares. To be a mentor — nurturing newfound faith and offering a lifeline of encouragement.
