Hope for the Caregiver Seminar – Equipping and encouraging those who are caring for others.

Thursday, March 2nd in room 202 at South Church from 6:30-8:00 p.m.

Join: Pastor Doug Phillips; David Seal, PhD Biblical Studies; Kelly Sites, Connections Director at South Church and RN for Samaritan’s Purse; and Kuana Richardson RN, BSN, currently works at McLaren Hospital and past Hospice and Home Health Care Nurse for this informative seminar to help caregivers navigate the hard task of compassionately caring for physically suffering loved ones (children, parents, spouses, etc.)

Topics Include: The biblical basis for compassionate care for suffering family members; The importance and means of self-care and resilience for you as a caregiver; How to deal with the stress of caregiving and decrease burn out; How to manage expectations; Family’s involvement at the beginning, middle and end of life care; Information and terminology to help you navigate the realities of the current health care industry; How to make informative decisions on which type of care and facility your family member may need; Forming strong relationships with hired caregivers and medical professionals; What to know about Long-term care, Hospice and Palliative Care; and much more.
