This Disclaimer/Website Policy (Disclaimer) governs our relationship with users and others who interact with Facebook or South Church. By using or accessing South Church’s Facebook pages (Facebook) or South Church’s website Southlife.org (Southlife), you agree to this Disclaimer.
1. General Disclaimer
a) The information contained on Facebook and Southlife is for general information purposes only. While we endeavor to keep the information up to date and correct, we make no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, about the completeness, accuracy, reliability, suitability or availability with respect to the website or the information, products, services, or related graphics contained on the website for any purpose. Any reliance you place on such information is therefore strictly at your own risk.
b) In no event will we be liable for any loss or damage including without limitation, indirect or consequential loss or damage, or any loss or damage whatsoever arising from loss of data or profits arising out of, or in connection with, the use of this website.
c) Through this website you are able to link to other websites which are not under the control of South Church. We have no control over the nature, content and availability of those sites. The inclusion of any links does not necessarily imply a recommendation or endorse the views expressed within them.
d) Every effort is made to keep Facebook and Southlife up and running smoothly. However, South Church takes no responsibility for, and will not be liable for, the website being temporarily unavailable due to technical issues beyond our control.
2. Posting Guidelines
Posts and comments do not necessarily reflect the opinions or policies of South Church and the fact of the comments being posted should not be viewed as approval or endorsement of any stated views.  Any information or content posted by you on either Facebook or Southlife shall follow the following guidelines.
a) Any information or content posted by you may be deleted at any time by South Church without notice.
b) All posts are your own views and do not necessarily reflect the views of South Church.
c) You will not post anything malicious, harmful, defamatory, racist, sexist, abusive, profane, violent, obscene, spamming, containing falsehoods , offensive, libelous, inciting, threatening or make ad hominem attacks on South Church members, employees, guests or  any businesses.
d) You will not post anything which could harm South Church in any way.
e) You will not post anything endorsing or opposing a particular political election, political candidate, or political event. However, information, content, and discussion, short of endorsement, of political issues is allowed.
f) You will not post any links to any political website or organization.
g) You will not post anything conflicting with the South Church Statement of Faith.
h) You will not post anything selling products or promoting any commercial ventures or efforts.
i) You will not post any advertisements.
j) Any information or content posted which is deemed too private will be removed by the sole discretion of South Church.
k) Any information or content not relating to South Church, South Church members, or South Church activities will be removed at the sole discretion of South Church.
3. Privacy
Your privacy is very important to us. We will not disclose any information we receive through Facebook or Southlife to a 3rd party without your permission.
4. Sharing Your Content and Information
You own all of the content and information you post on Facebook and Southlife. In addition:
a) When you delete IP content, it is deleted in a manner similar to emptying the recycle bin on a computer. However, you understand that removed content may persist in backup copies for a reasonable period of time (but will not be available to others).
b) When you publish content or information using the Public setting in Facebook, it means that you are allowing everyone, including people off of Facebook, to access and use that information, and to associate it with you (i.e., your name and profile picture).
c) We always appreciate your feedback or other suggestions about Facebook and Southlife, but you understand that we may use them without any obligation to compensate you for them (just as you have no obligation to offer them).
5. Safety
We do our best to keep Facebook and Southlife safe, but we cannot guarantee it. We need your help to do that, which includes the following commitments:
a) You will not send or otherwise post unauthorized commercial communications (such as spam) on Facebook and Southlife.
b) You will not collect users’ content or information, or otherwise access Facebook and Southlife, using automated means (such as harvesting bots, robots, spiders, or scrapers) without our permission.
c) You will not engage in unlawful multi-level marketing, such as a pyramid scheme, on Facebook and Southlife.
d) You will not upload viruses or other malicious code.
e) You will not solicit login information or access an account belonging to someone else.
f) You will not bully, intimidate, or harass any user.
g) You will not post content that: is hateful, threatening, or pornographic; incites violence; or contains nudity or graphic or gratuitous violence.
h) You will not use Facebook and Southlife to do anything unlawful, misleading, malicious, or discriminatory.
i) You will not do anything that could disable, overburden, or impair the proper working of Facebook and Southlife, such as a denial of service attack.
j) You will not facilitate or encourage any violations of this Disclaimer.
6. Protecting Other People’s Rights
We respect other people’s rights, and expect you to do the same. In addition:
a) You will not post content or take any action on Facebook and Southlife that infringes or violates someone else’s rights or otherwise violates the law.
b) We can remove any content or information you post on Facebook and Southlife if we believe that it violates this Disclaimer.
c) If you repeatedly infringe other people’s intellectual property rights, we will disable your access to South Church’s Facebook pages and groups.
7. Reproduction/Adaptation/Distribution
Except for the limited purpose of reviewing material on this site, electronic reproduction, adaptation, distribution, performance or display is strictly prohibited. Commercial use of any content is strictly prohibited. You may not display this site in frames (or any of the content via in-line links) without South Church’s express written permission, which may be requested by contacting us.
8. Amendments
We can change this Disclaimer at any time without notice.
9. Termination
If you violate the letter or spirit of this Disclaimer, or otherwise create risk or possible legal exposure for us, we can stop allowing access to our Facebook and Southlife pages.
10. Disputes
a) You will resolve any claim, cause of action or dispute (claim) you have with us arising out of or relating to this Disclaimer or South Church exclusively in a state court located in Eaton County, Michigan. The laws of the State of Michigan will govern this Disclaimer, as well as any claim that might arise between you and us, without regard to conflict of law provisions. You agree to submit to the personal jurisdiction of the courts located in Eaton County, Michigan for the purpose of litigating all such claims.
b) If anyone brings a claim against us related to your actions, content or information on Facebook and Southlife, you will indemnify and hold us harmless from and against all damages, losses, and expenses of any kind (including reasonable legal fees and costs) related to such claim.
11. Definitions
a) By Southlife we mean the features and services we make available through Southlife.org.
b) By information we mean facts and other information about you, including actions you take.
c) By content we mean anything you post on Facebook and Southlife that would not be included in the definition of information.
d) By post we mean post on Facebook or otherwise make available to us.
e) By use we mean use, copy, publicly perform or display, distribute, modify, translate, and create derivative works of South Church.
12. Other
a) If you are a resident of or have your principal place of business in the US or Canada, this Disclaimer is an agreement between you and South Church.
b) This Disclaimer makes up the entire agreement between the parties regarding Facebook, and supersedes any prior agreements.
c) If any portion of this Disclaimer is found to be unenforceable, the remaining portion will remain in full force and effect.
d) If we fail to enforce any of this Disclaimer, it will not be considered a waiver.
e) Any amendment to or waiver of this Disclaimer must be made in writing, posted on our website, and is immediately effective the date of posting.
f) You will not transfer any of your rights or obligations under this Disclaimer to anyone else without our consent.
g) All of our rights and obligations under this Disclaimer are freely assignable by us in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, or by operation of law or otherwise.
h) Nothing in this Disclaimer shall prevent us from complying with the law.
i) This Disclaimer does not confer any third party beneficiary rights.
j) You will comply with all applicable laws when using or accessing Facebook and Southlife.
